The 600 Years Building Video Projection

Mapping during 600 years anniversary of the astronomical tower clock situated at Old Town Square in center of Prague. Concept and animations by The Macula (Amar Mulabegović, Dan Gregor) Coworking animators: Michal Kotek Lukáš Duběda Sound: data-live (www.data-live.cz) Production: Tomato Production (www.tomatoproduction.cz)

Lately we've seen many great examples of video projections and this one is particularly good. The one thing that I've yet to see anyone mention is how important sound design is to these projections. Without good sound design this would not be able to have any context.

Banksy vs The Simpsons & Keith Haring

While you were busy celebrating 10/10/10 Banksy, in that puckish way of his, went ahead and took over the opening credits to The Simpsons. Kudos to the producers and the network for actually airing the sequence Bansky storyboarded and directed.

As if that wasn't enough, he went ahead and did a pre-air Simpson tribute in New Orleans:

And just to remind us what he is really all about there is this new piece paying tribute to Keith Haring:

Lastly, if you have not seen Exit Through The Gift Shop, make plans to see it as soon as possible. A documentary of questionable truth showcasing street art and the people that make it.

How Ink Is Made

It is easy to get caught up in the frenzy of the newest gadget, but ink is everywhere. This short film demonstrates how technically complex, fascinating and beautiful the ink-making process is. Touch devices are getting more amazing every day, but nothing beats the tactile joy of holding something printed on beautiful paper with gorgeous inks.

Great find by @laughingsquid.

Peter Welfare, president and Chief Ink Maker of The Printing Ink Company, shows how ink is made.
